Flash Video is a container file format used to deliver video over the Internet using Adobe Flash Player (initially produced by Macromedia) versions 6–10. Flash Video content may also be embedded within SWF files. There are two different video file formats defined by Adobe Systems and supported in Adobe Flash Player: FLV and F4V. The audio and video data within FLV files are encoded in the same way as they are within SWF files. The latter F4V file format is based on the ISO base media file format and is supported starting with Flash Player 9 update 3.[1][2]

The format has quickly established itself as the format of choice for embedded video on the web. Notable users of the Flash Video format include YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo! The standards documentation for BBC Online deprecates the use of other formats previously in use on its sites[3] such as RealVideo or WMV.

Though the Flash Video container format itself is open, most of the compression formats used with it are patented. Flash Video FLV files usually contain material encoded with codecs following the Sorenson Spark or VP6 video compression formats. The most recent public releases of Flash Player also support H.264 video and HE-AAC audio.

Flash Video is viewable on most operating systems, via the widely available Adobe Flash Player and web browser plugin, or one of several third-party programs.

Say Goodbye to Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana

It was bound to happen sooner rather than later.  Miley Cyrus simply wasn’t going to be on Hannah Montana forever.

Of course, most people thought the wig would have come off .

Alas, Disney Channel has released a statement officially admitting that the network’s biggest attraction will be coming to an end following the conclusion of the upcoming fourth season.

And, as far as we can tell, pole dancing, short skirts and boob tattoos had nothing to do with it.

The network only held options on the star’s contract through  a fourth season.

For fans, however, the end is far from near.

“You never know in this business…but right now, we’re scheduled to wrap after shooting this new batch of episodes,” Disney Channel Worldwide programming exec Adam Bonnett says in the statement. “The episodes will continue to roll out at least over a full year.”

In other words, they’re going to drag this farewell out as long as possible. In fact, it already began—the third season finale was called “Is Miley Saying Goodbye?”

Shooting begins Jan. 18 and is set to conclude sometime over the summer.

Not much of a shocker, right?  It seems as though series star Miley Cyrus is getting a bit too old for  Hannah.  Between pole dancing, getting boob tatoos, wearing inappropriately short shorts, making out on the beach, and quitting Twitter (and that’s just off the top of my head!), babe’s got better things to do.

It is, of course, unclear as to whether Cyrus has grown too big in the head for  Hannah Montana, or Disney fears an approaching teen idol train wreck.  I’m assuming it’s the latter, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a li’l of both.  A mutually agreed-upon divorce!

I’ll admit, I find Hannah Montana enjoyable from time to time and see it as a fun show for kiddies.  I’ll miss channel surfing and running into its birght pink set and endless plots o’ hijinx.

Too bad ole Cyrus has gone apeshizz over the past year or so.  They grow up so fast!

Tights are a winter staple for all women, or they should be. It’s yet another way to express your personality through an outfit. Tights can be sophiscated, edgy and beautiful.

But tights are a fashion accessory, right? So why would we be talking about tights on the jewelry blog?  Well, take a look at the tights from the fall runway shows and you’ll get it. The bejeweled tights for fall are bedazzling, one might say. Not only will they keep your legs warm, but they’ll be the centerpiece of your outfit. These tights will be the only accessory you’ll need for fall. You won’t even have to wear jewelry, unless you want to of course. But I wonder, are they practical? How will this trend translate to the streets?

Bejeweled tights have created quite a buzz on the runway with designers like Doo.Ri and threeASFOUR. Doo.Ri created their bejeweled masterpieces (top left) by sewing silver, black and gold sequins into lace and crocheted tights. I could stare at them for hours. threeASFOUR’s crystal encrusted mesh tights (top right) are to die for. They must have taken hours to make. I love that there’s a mix of tiny and huge crystals. How much do you think they weigh?

Now, let’s get practical. Being a notorious tights ripper, I’d be terrified to ruin them. Also, how can you wash these? They must be delicate. What if some of the rhinestones fell off? I can’t bare to imagine it. They’re too beautiful to wear to a club. A nice dinner, maybe. I’d be content to wear them around the house, honestly. Better safe than sorry.
